國立政治大學社會科學學院於2003年及2008年成立了「亞太研究英語碩士學位學程(IMAS)」及博士學位學程(IDAS)，並於2013年成立「應用經濟與社會發展英語碩士學位學程(IMES)」。該校以培訓國際高等教育人才為己任，亦因應國際趨勢潮流，開辦全英語授課之碩士及博士學程，除讓有志於研究本領域的國際學生在多元化角度下學習亞太地區經濟、政治、文化、社會等不同領域課程，並提供國際人士在臺進修管道。
